Florian Guillaume: “Turns a demographic constraint into an opportunity, physical strength as vocation, not stigma.”

A Nagoya-based care company that solved Japan's caregiver shortage with an unexpected strategy: recruiting bodybuilders. CEO Yusuke Niwa launched the 'Macho Caregiver' initiative in 2018 after founding the company in 2008. The program hires competitive bodybuilders as caregivers, offering paid gym time (2 hours/day), protein subsidies and performance bonuses. Result: from 10 applications/year before 2018 to ~1,200 expected in 2026. 29 facilities nationwide, 340 staff, a quarter under 24 years ol
