The world's most comprehensive backup of crop diversity: 1.3 million+ seed varieties, stored in a mountain vault on the Norwegian Arctic island of Svalbard at -18°C. Opened in 2008. Owned by the Norwegian government, managed by the Nordic Genetic Resource Center (NordGen) and Crop Trust. Free storage for seed banks worldwide.
