Italian journalist and television presenter (1928-1988), host of the historic Sunday-evening variety show Portobello on RAI. In June 1983 he was arrested in front of the cameras on false charges of mafia association and drug trafficking, based on the testimony of unreliable informants. After seven months in prison and a four-year trial, he was fully acquitted in 1986 and died of cancer two years later.
