Roman civil-rights association founded in 2001 by sociologist and former senator Luigi Manconi. A Buon Diritto Onlus defends prisoners, migrants, the chronically ill and those in precarious legal situations through legal reports, strategic litigation and draft legislative amendments. Its work has shaped Italian law on prison healthcare, end-of-life rights and residency regularisation. Operates with a small permanent staff and a wide network of pro-bono lawyers and academics.
