We treat curation as a public record, not a black box. Every changemaker reaches the map through a documented path. Here is what we publish, and what we refuse to hide.
What we publish
Every profile carries the name of the curator who vouches for it. Nothing is anonymous on our side. Entry dates, curation notes and sources are rolling out card by card through the curator desk; here is exactly where each stands.
- Curator attribution: Each changemaker is signed by the person who proposed them. Curators carry the responsibility of their own selections.
- Entry date: Rolling out: new entries are dated at publication. The founding corpus predates this system and carries no date rather than a reconstructed one.
- Editorial note: Why this changemaker, in the curator's own words, on every card curated through the desk. Founding-corpus cards are being progressively re-signed with their note.
- Sources: Shown on the profile when the curator provides them. Going forward, any impact figure on a card must carry its source and year, or the figure comes off.
- Categories & themes: Tagged by curator, reviewed by the editorial team, never auto-generated.
How a changemaker enters the cartography
The process is intentionally deliberate. Curators nominate with a written rationale; the editorial team verifies; we reach out whenever we can; and the person keeps an unconditional right of review and removal, before and after publication. No scraping, no harvested LinkedIn data. The founding corpus (2026) was seeded from the founding curator's own decade of field research and is being re-verified card by card.
- 1. Nomination by a curator, with a written rationale.
- 2. Verification of identity, role, project authenticity by the editorial team.
- 3. Outreach: we contact the changemaker whenever we can reach them, and explain our editorial mandate.
- 4. Right of review: corrections before or after publication, and unconditional removal at any time (see “Are you on the map?” in the legal notice).
- 5. Publication: signed by its curator.
What we publish about ourselves
Once a year we publish the Transparency Report: who joined, who left, who reviewed what, where the membership revenue went. The first report covers May 2026 – May 2027 and will be made public in June 2027 at the latest.
- Editorial decisions: Number of nominations received, accepted, declined, with anonymised reasons.
- Removals & retractions: Profiles removed (death, withdrawal, factual error, ethical issue) with public justification.
- Membership economics: CHNGMKR+ revenue, contribution margin, the Community Share and how it was distributed to curators, changemakers and the Impact Pool.
- Independence statement: Affiliations and conflicts of interest of curators and editorial staff.
- Impact pipeline: Introduction requests received, encounters held, and documented outcomes six months on. Card counts measure our activity; these measure what it changes.
What we will never publish
- Email addresses, phone numbers or home locations of changemakers: admin-only.
- Personal data of CHNGMKR+ members, ever, to anyone, in any aggregate form.
- Editorial decisions paid for by sponsors, foundations or governments. No paid entries. None.
